Whoah life has changed in a week. Last Monday after I hit publish on my Happy Monday post, I headed off to a specialist appointment and finally (after five weeks) got the all clear on a very worrying health thing (post to come). I feel like a weight has been lifted. I have again started to make plans to do things, see friends, conquer the world. I no longer have that horrible niggle in the back of my mind telling me to wait, to not think too far ahead, just in case. It has been a GOOD WEEK folks. A timely reminder that I need to enjoy each day as it comes.
Things that made me happy this week:
:: A glass of Champagne by myself at City Wine Shop on Monday afternoon to celebrate my good news.
:: Walking home from the train station on Monday night with the feeling of possibility in the air. A light breeze picked up and all my worries began to wisp away.
:: Time spent with The Bookworm on Tuesday, eating lunch on the lawn in front of the State Library and just hanging out for the first time in ages.
:: Losing the fear that surrounded my new camera. I realised I just needed to jump in. Despite all the confusing dials it was unlikely to self destruct. I have set myself a little challenge: to participate in Fat Mum Slim's October Photo a Day using only my Proper Camera. No iPhone cheating. To check out my progress follow me on Instagram.
:: Watching my extraordinary friend faffing about in her kitchen cooking me dinner while we sipped wine and talked about all the problems, and made them go away a little bit:)
:: Polenta. Extraordinary friend from above cooked me polenta properly and it was amazing. I have cooked polenta a bunch of times but I didn't know you had to keep stirring it for twenty minutes... wow, it makes all the difference- puffy little clouds of yum.
:: Once the musical. Wow. Just wow. Well, actually more than just wow, you can read my gush here.
:: Having reason to overuse the word wow. Wow!
:: Dandling: to move a small child up and down in an affectionate way- great word. Discovered in J.K. Rowling's 'The Silkworm.'
:: Finding myself crouching on the nature strip in front of my house trying to get a good shot of some dandelions and not caring that the neighbours thought I was terribly odd (well, I am :)
:: Ice cream cones. Now that the weather has warmed up I cannot get enough of them. There is something so much more nostalgic and romantic about a cone versus a bowl.
Happy Monday.
What are you looking forward to this week?
So happy for you! :)

Thank you. I have decided that photography is all about odd glances (caught my expression in the mirror while I was shooting the other day and that was definitely an odd look) so I'm going to embrace it.
