A Liebster award x 2

I have been feeling the Liebster love this week. Actually that's like saying ATM machine (Automatic Teller Machine machine..) because Liebster apparently means a bunch of variations on lovely. Essentially a Liebster award is a way of bloggers recognising other bloggers and spreading the word. You can read my previous Liebster award post here. I've been nominated for two Liebster awards in the last week which is such a joy. The first was from Sheridan who writes over at Sheridan Anne - a lovely lifestyle blog with recipes, DIY and household tips for busy mums.
The second was from Nicole from The Builder's Wife. Nicole's blog is a bit of a chronicle of her journey to renovate and extend her gorgeous Queenslander. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the mood for a reno or home decoration inspiration.

There are lots of  'rules' around Liebster awards but as I said last time I was 'nominated,' I'm not really one to follow rules so I'm making up my own again:) I am going to answer a few of the questions from each of these gorgeous nominating ladies and then pass on the flag to a couple of my favourite local bloggers.

Here goes:

From Sheridan:

What is your dream job?

Gosh, I don't know, it keeps changing. I would like something to do with wine and education, maybe with some presenting thrown in, some writing, faffing about on social media and working with people. I would love to work in a team but pretty much all my work 'til now has been fairly solitary.

If you could own an exotic animal as a pet which animal would it be?

An orangutan, I want to be a ranga with a ranga:)

Early bird or night owl?

An early-evening magpie :) I am not a morning person and I tend to just get a bit stressed at night because I don't sleep well. I hit my peak between about 2pm and 7pm- I love that time of day.

If you were to describe yourself as a "triple threat," what are the three things you are super good at?

Organising events and fun stuff, eating, wine-nerdery :) Is there a job that could utilise those skills? All job offers via the comments box will be considered.

If you were a character from the show Seinfeld who would you be?

With my erratic dancing it would have to be Elaine. Man I love that show. I must rewatch it.

From Nicole:

Your favourite childhood memory?

So many! Playing in my grandfather's backyard with my cousins, eating big slabs of my nana's orange cake, visiting Brisbane at christmas time and being enchanted by the Myer christmas display, making smores after school at my friend's house in the microwave- we didn't call them smores though, we had very little American influence at the time, I think we called them microwave biscuits (such an enchanting name :).

Beach or pool?

For swimming, pool, definitely. I don't like waves, I hate the possibility of sea creatures interacting with my legs and sand- ergh, who invented sand?? However I adore walking along the beach in the late afternoon and there is nowhere I am more peaceful (in my noisy brain) than at the ocean.

Where do you like best to shop (for anything)?

The internet but only from little independent artists on sites like Etsy or small local stores. I detest shopping centres.

Why do you blog?

I love writing, I love the connections and new friends that blogging has given me. Blogging is my creative outlet. I have just started a second blog (Champagne and Chips) where I am challenging myself to have a more professional focus because once I finish my diploma in wine I think I may like to work more in a writing/marketing/social media context. Through blogging I have learnt so many new skills from (very basic) coding to SEO and building connections.

Dogs or cats?

Dogs. The Bookworm is allergic to cats and honestly, Ted is the centre of my universe. I love the way that dogs are always around looking out for you and that full-body greeting wiggle is one of my favourite parts of the day.

Ok so I am handing the torch to:

Dee from Wild About Melbourne
Mel from Eat Quaff Laugh

Ladies, my rules are (feel free to break them):
Tell the world I nominated you
Pop a Liebster award on your blog
Answer the questions below
Make up some new questions
Nominate somewhere between 2 and 11 other bloggers to receive the award
Hooray!

Questions:
Where in the world would you most like to visit (or return to)?
What is your most favourite food?
How many pairs of shoes do you own? And how many of them do you wear at least once a year?
Tell me about an absolute cooking failure...
Why did you start blogging?
Parties or quiet dinners?
How do you treat yourself (as in give yourself a treat)?
Tell me able your high school formal dress...
Are you a christmas lover or a grinch?
If you could change your career tomorrow, what would you do?

Want to play along at home? Pick three questions and answer them below :)

  1. I am with you on the pool thing, I hate waves and can't abide creatures "interacting with my legs' either, (such a great turn of phrase btw!) Congrats on your second nomination and the second blog (awesome name) I've heard great things about it already and can't wait to hop on over and check it out!
